Job Responsibility:
• Manages the work activities of department personnel to achieve maximum quality and productivity of the department.
• Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
• Maintains job results through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Reviews and approves production schedules to establish priorities.
• Analyzes reports to determine the cause of manufacturing problems and resolves problems.
• Resolves personnel issues to include hiring, counseling, discipline, pay, benefits, and termination and safety training
• Develops and controls departmental budget.
• Coordinates production requirements with other departments.
Job requirement:
• Mechanically inclined with ability to effectively resolve technical problems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and theory in assigned area.
• Computer skills: Knowledge of work processing and spreadsheet applications required (MS Word & Excel preferred). Familiarity with manufacturing resource planning software required.
• Managerial and/or leadership training skills required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
• Strong organization and time management skills required.
• Ability to effectively resolve employee issues and concerns.
